Senior NSC officials mistakenly added a journalist to a Signal messaging thread about a military operation in Yemen, which led to the unintentional leak of sensitive information. While Trump has expressed support for the officials involved in the incident, including National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, it is not clear whether this controversy influenced the decision to remove the three officials.
