WASHINGTON (Agencies): President Donald Trump has fired at least three officials from the National Security Council (NSC), with more firings expected in the coming days, according to CBS News. The decision, which has raised questions about the motivations behind it, follows a meeting between Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer at the White House on Wednesday. Loomer reportedly urged the President to remove certain NSC officials whom she felt were not sufficiently supportive of his agenda.

The fired officials include Brian Walsh, a director for intelligence; Thomas Boodry, a senior director for legislative affairs; and David Feith, a senior director overseeing technology and national security, CBS News reports. While the exact reasons for the firings remain unclear, the timing suggests they could be connected to Loomer’s intervention, though she declined to provide further details on her meeting with Trump, citing respect for the privacy of the Oval Office.

“It was an honor to meet with President Trump and present him with my findings. I will continue working hard to support his agenda and reiterate the importance of strong vetting to protect the President and our national security,” Loomer said in a statement.

The firings also come amid ongoing recovery efforts within the NSC following a major controversy last month. Senior NSC officials mistakenly added a journalist to a Signal messaging thread about a military operation in Yemen, which led to the unintentional leak of sensitive information. While Trump has expressed support for the officials involved in the incident, including National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, it is not clear whether this controversy influenced the decision to remove the three officials.

The White House has not commented on the specifics of the firings, maintaining its policy of not discussing personnel matters. As the Trump administration continues to reshuffle its national security team, the firings are seen as part of an effort to ensure loyalty to the President’s vision, particularly as he prepares for another term in office.
