Riyadh , February 12 2026, (Agencies) – Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir in Riyadh on Thursday to reaffirm the longstanding strategic partnership and defence cooperation between the two countries.
According to official reports, the officials discussed ways to promote global peace and security in line with their shared interests. Both sides emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts to address regional and international security challenges and highlighted the deep-rooted historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Prince Khalid underlined the significance of the bilateral defence relationship, noting its role in strengthening regional stability, strategic planning, and counter?terrorism measures. Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Saudi Arabia in military training, strategic coordination, and security initiatives.
The meeting follows the landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement signed in Riyadh in September 2025, under which both nations agreed that any aggression against one would be treated as aggression against both. Officials said the engagement reflects the enduring bond between Islamabad and Riyadh and a mutual resolve to expand defence cooperation and tackle global and regional security priorities.
