Visual Representation of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Toy Soldiers and Tanks on a Map.

Moscow, Russia — November 29, 2025 (Agencies) — The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Saturday that the country’s armed forces carried out a large-scale strike against Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and the energy facilities supporting it, in what officials described as retaliation for recent attacks on civilian targets inside Russia.

According to the ministry, all designated targets were successfully hit, with the operation achieving its intended objectives. The strikes also destroyed infrastructure at a Ukrainian military aerodrome, along with storage and launch sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.

Russian battlegroups reported significant battlefield activity across multiple regions:

  • Sever battlegroup eliminated formations of three Ukrainian mechanized brigades and two assault regiments in the Sumy region, including the settlements of Pavlovka, Andreevka, Novaya Sech, and Varachino.
  • Zapad battlegroup struck targets in Kharkov region and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where Ukraine reportedly lost over 230 servicemen, one tank, three armored combat vehicles, ten automobiles, three artillery systems, and a U.S.-made counter-battery radar station. Nine electronic warfare stations and three ammunition depots were also destroyed.
  • Tsentr battlegroup repelled nine Ukrainian attacks near Grishino in the DPR, eliminating up to 25 Ukrainian soldiers over the past day.
  • Vostok battlegroup defeated formations of a Ukrainian mechanized brigade, an assault brigade, and three assault regiments in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions, including the settlements of Aleksandrovka, Pokrovskoye, Dobropolye, Varvarovka, and Gulyaypole.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that the strikes were a direct response to what it termed “terrorist attacks” by Kiev on Russian civilian infrastructure.
