DOHA, August 26, 2026 (Agencies) — Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is expected to travel to Tehran on Thursday as part of diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and promote greater security and stability, according to Iranian media reports.
The anticipated visit is also expected to include discussions on bilateral relations between Qatar and Iran, as well as the latest regional developments and efforts to prevent further escalation.
The planned trip follows separate telephone consultations held by Sheikh Mohammed with the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman. The discussions reportedly focused on recent developments in the region and preparations for the Qatari premier’s expected visit to Tehran.
The visit comes amid intensified diplomatic activity involving Iran and regional countries seeking to ease tensions and prevent the conflict from expanding further.
