Tokyo (Agencies): Pakistan and Japan convened the fourth round of Counter-Terrorism Consultations in Tokyo on Wednesday, reaffirming their commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary (UN) Nabeel Munir, while the Japanese side was headed by Ambassador Minami Hiroyuki, in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime.
During the discussions, both sides assessed evolving terrorist threats at national and regional levels, exchanging views on effective countermeasures. Pakistan briefed the Japanese delegation on its recent policy measures and enforcement actions, including progress in countering the financing of terrorism, dismantling terrorist networks, and enhancing border security.
The consultations also explored avenues for greater bilateral cooperation, focusing on capacity-building initiatives and leveraging emerging technologies to strengthen counterterrorism efforts.
Both countries reiterated their resolve to work together in addressing global security challenges and fostering regional stability through enhanced collaboration.
