Islamabad (Agencies) July 9, 2025 — In a high-profile engagement underscoring the strategic depth of Pakistan–China defense relations, Lieutenant General Wang Gang, Chief of Staff of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), led a senior military delegation to meet Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

The meeting focused on regional security dynamics, airpower collaboration, and operational synergy, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in training, technology, and joint operations. The Chinese delegation received a detailed briefing on PAF’s evolving force structure, strategic initiatives, and multi-domain operational doctrine.

General Wang Gang lauded the PAF’s high state of combat readiness and its battle-proven integration of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO)—a capability he described as a “hallmark of modern air warfare.” He expressed the PLAAF’s keen interest in learning from Pakistan’s operational experience, particularly following the recent conflict with India, during which PAF reportedly downed six Indian jets in a calibrated response to cross-border strikes.

Calling the PAF’s performance a “textbook example of precision, discipline, and courage,” General Wang praised the leadership of Air Chief Marshal Sidhu and emphasized the importance of strategic convergence between the two air forces.

The visit follows a series of high-level military exchanges and reflects the growing emphasis on innovation-driven collaboration between the two nations. Both sides reiterated their shared vision for regional peace and stability, rooted in mutual trust and long-standing friendship.
