Fairford (Khyber Mail) July 17, 2025: A distinguished contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) arrived at the Royal Air Force Base Fairford, United Kingdom, to participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious military aviation events. The deployment features PAF’s latest JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter aircraft alongside the versatile C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, marking a powerful presence at the globally celebrated airshow.

The Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 is scheduled to take place from July 18 to 20 at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Renowned as the largest military airshow in the world, RIAT draws over 170,000 visitors annually, including aviation professionals, defence officials, and enthusiasts from around the globe. This year’s theme, “Eyes in the Skies,” highlights aircraft specializing in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and maritime patrol operations.
PAF’s participation reflects its commitment to showcasing indigenous aviation capabilities, operational excellence, and international interoperability. The JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighters, equipped with EASA radar and long-range BVR missile systems, successfully completed air-to-air refuelling operations en route to the UK using a PAF IL-78 aerial tanker. This complex mid-air operation demonstrated the Pakistan Air Force’s extended-range capability and the proficiency of its flight and technical crews in executing missions beyond national borders.
Adding to the visual appeal, PAF’s C-130 Hercules has been painted in a custom livery inspired by RIAT’s 2025 theme. The design, titled “Eyes in the Skies,” symbolizes vigilance, situational awareness, and the technological edge maintained by modern air forces. The aircraft is expected to be a centerpiece of the static display, drawing attention from artists, aviation historians, and military analysts.
The arrival of PAF aircraft has generated considerable excitement among British spectators and defence observers, especially following recent regional tensions in South Asia. The JF-17’s combat-proven reputation and advanced capabilities have made its presence at RIAT one of the most anticipated highlights of the event.
Through its participation, the Pakistan Air Force aims to foster international cooperation, promote its indigenous aviation industry, and reinforce its image as a forward-looking, technologically advanced air force contributing to global peace and security. RIAT-2025 offers a unique platform for PAF to engage with global aerospace stakeholders and demonstrate its evolving role in modern airpower.
