Los Angeles (Agencies) July 19, 2025: A devastating incident unfolded early Saturday morning in East Hollywood, Los Angeles, where a vehicle drove into a crowd near Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, leaving more than 20 people injured, including at least five in critical condition.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the crash occurred around 2:00 a.m. local time outside a music venue, where a large group had gathered. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver may have lost consciousness, veered into a taco cart, and then struck the crowd near a nightclub entrance.
Emergency responders from LAFD and LAPD quickly arrived on the scene, coordinating triage and transport for victims. Authorities report that eight to ten individuals are in serious condition, while 10 to 15 others sustained moderate injuries.
Live footage showed dozens of paramedics treating victims on the street, with ambulances rushing patients to nearby hospitals. The identity of the driver has not yet been released, and officials have not confirmed whether the incident was accidental or intentional.
The area remains cordoned off as investigators work to determine the exact cause of the crash. A press briefing is expected later today.
This is one of the most serious crowd-related vehicle incidents in Los Angeles in recent years, and officials are urging witnesses to come forward with any footage or information that could aid the investigation.
