Islamabad, January 24, 2026 (Khyber Mail) – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) hosted a networking reception in Islamabad, graciously hosted by His Excellency Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, reaffirming the strong and growing educational cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan highlighted the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between the two countries, founded on shared cultural, religious and people-to-people ties. He said Malaysia continues to be a preferred study destination for Pakistani students due to its high-quality education system, internationally recognised universities and affordable tuition fees. He noted that a steadily increasing number of Pakistani students are enrolled in leading Malaysian public and private universities, contributing positively to academic collaboration and cultural exchange.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Moeen Ahmed, Regional Head South Asia at Education Malaysia Global Services, welcomed participants from Pakistan’s education sector. He underscored Malaysia’s strong academic standards, industry-oriented programmes and student-friendly environment. He encouraged Pakistani students to explore the wide range of study opportunities available at Malaysian universities, which offer globally competitive education and clear career pathways.

The event provided an important platform for dialogue, collaboration and networking between Malaysian higher education institutions and Pakistan’s education stakeholders. Representatives from several leading Malaysian universities participated, including the University of Malaya, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, UCSI University and the University of Cyberjaya.

The reception reaffirmed EMGS’s commitment to further strengthening Malaysia–Pakistan educational cooperation and promoting Malaysia as a leading global education destination for Pakistani students.
