The delegation, which also included the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan and local Inland Revenue staff, visited the martyrs’ graves, offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths. Speaking to the bereaved families, the senior officials said the FBR is like one family and that the department stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of its martyrs in every hour of difficulty. On behalf of the department, an amount of Rs1.5 million, or 15 lakh, from the CP Fund has been approved and released as immediate financial assistance for the families of both martyred officials.

The visit follows an armed attack on Tuesday, October 6, in which two officials of the FBR Enforcement Squad, Arm Guard Rahmatullah and Sepoy Sulaiman, were killed while on duty at Qureshi Mor on Bypass Road in Dera Ismail Khan. According to an FBR release, three squad members were at their designated point at about 11:30 am when unidentified armed men opened fire. Sepoy Izharullah returned fire, after which the assailants fled with the squad’s official arms and ammunition.
