New York City, August 6, 2025 (Agencies) — A dramatic incident unfolded in Times Square late Tuesday night when a blue Lamborghini Urus struck multiple individuals, including a pedicab and a uniformed NYPD officer, before fleeing the scene. The New York Police Department has launched an active investigation and is currently searching for the unidentified driver.
The incident occurred around 10:19 PM near West 44th Street and 7th Avenue, within the Midtown South Precinct. According to NYPD officials, the Lamborghini was involved in reckless driving and failed to stop when approached by officers. The vehicle struck a pedicab and then ran over an officer, causing minor injuries to the officer’s foot. He was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Footage circulating on social media, including a video posted by streamer “Shangel”, appears to show the interior of the Lamborghini Urus and the chaotic scene outside. The video has helped confirm the vehicle’s identity and occupants, though the driver remains at large.
The NYPD has not made any arrests as of this report and is urging witnesses to come forward. The incident has sparked outrage and concern over reckless driving and public safety in one of the city’s busiest tourist hubs.
