Pabbi, January 10 2026, (Agencies) – Pakistan and the United States have commenced the 13th bilateral joint military exercise, Inspired Gambit–2026, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two-week-long exercise, which began on January 9, focuses on enhancing counter-terrorism capabilities and operational interoperability between the two armies.

Officials from both countries attended the opening ceremony, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The exercise emphasizes urban warfare, precision marksmanship, and understanding each other’s operational doctrines and best practices, while sharing counter-terrorism experiences.

The ISPR said the joint drills are designed to address evolving security challenges, improve professional military standards, and strengthen the capacity of both forces to operate in complex counter-terrorism environments. Inspired Gambit–2026 reflects the continued commitment of Pakistan and the United States to collaborative efforts for regional peace and stability.

The exercise follows a long series of bilateral military engagements under the Inspired Gambit program, aimed at fostering mutual understanding, tactical refinement, and strategic cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
