Washington, D.C. (Agencies) July 19, 2025: The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded a new Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to Uber for Business, aiming to streamline federal travel and reduce costs for government employees, military personnel, and select contractors across more than 15,000 cities and 70 countries.
Announced Wednesday, the agreement is part of GSA’s OneGov initiative, which leverages centralized procurement to secure competitive pricing and eliminate duplication across federal agencies. The deal builds on a previous rideshare BPA awarded in 2020 and now includes expanded access, enhanced backend visibility, and mission-specific transportation capabilities.
“This partnership significantly enhances the overall employee experience by offering convenient and reliable transportation options,” said GSA Acting Administrator Stephen Ehikian, citing the agency’s broader push to modernize the federal workplace.
Under the new BPA, Uber will provide:
- Global rideshare access for federal employees and contractors
- High-capacity vehicles for group transport, trainings, and shuttle replacement
- Mission-support services for emergency response and disaster relief
- Business profiles for compliance and expense tracking
Federal contractors, with contracting officer approval, will now receive the same benefits as federal employees, further streamlining operations and reducing administrative overhead.
Uber President Andrew Macdonald emphasized the platform’s versatility: “We’re paving the way for a future where integrated mobility, meal delivery, and fleet management can help transform the full range of government services”.
The BPA, valued at up to $75 million, also aligns with President Trump’s April 2025 Executive Order promoting commercial efficiency in federal contracts.
GSA Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum hailed the agreement as “an exciting first step” toward delivering scalable, cost-effective mobility solutions for the federal workforce.
