“In the council of the blind, a unanimous decision was reached:
The root of all evil is ‘sight’ itself!”

The sudden surge in global political and diplomatic activity following the attack on the illegitimate state of Israel is not a spontaneous reaction it is a continuation of a long-term geopolitical strategy. This strategy is deeply rooted in the vested interests of powerful nations, entrenched double standards, and the selective priorities of global powers. The blood of Muslims remains cheap in a world where the global conscience has never extended the same sensitivity to Muslim lives as it has to those in Europe or Israel.

For decades, in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Kashmir, unspeakable atrocities and grave violations of human rights have taken place. Yet, the United Nations, the Security Council, the G7, and Western powers have limited themselves to empty statements and hollow expressions of concern.

Following the attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, Israel’s response marked one of the most brutal assaults in modern history. Gaza has faced relentless air, land, and sea bombardments, leaving thousands dead and millions displaced. Hospitals, schools, places of worship, and humanitarian centers have been reduced to rubble. UN experts and human rights organizations have repeatedly warned of a genocidal situation in Gaza. Yet, the Security Council’s silence or its indifference masked behind veto power—has been a source of deep anguish for the Muslim world.

By June 2025, the situation had deteriorated further due to a direct military confrontation between Iran and Israel. Iran’s retaliatory strikes triggered a shift in regional and global dynamics. The United States threatened war against Iran, the European Union appealed for restraint, and China and Russia attempted to maintain diplomatic balance. But the message was clear: any attack on Israel would not be tolerated, even if it was a desperate response to years of oppression.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s intensified operations in Lebanon, Houthi attacks on maritime vessels from Yemen, and the mobilization of Iranian-backed groups in Iraq and Syria have further escalated global tensions. Western media quickly labeled Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah as “terrorists” and “dangerous actors,” while Israel was portrayed as a victim, acting only in self-defense.

This is not coincidental; it is the product of a well-crafted global narrative. When the accused are Muslims, terms like terrorism, extremism, and radicalism are deployed without hesitation. But when Western powers or Israel launch attacks, the language shifts to “right to self-defense,” “national security,” and “war on terror.”

The Muslim world’s helplessness regarding Palestine is equally disheartening. The Arab League remains mute, the OIC is largely inactive, and no Muslim country has taken effective steps to halt Israel’s onslaught. Nations like Turkey, Qatar, Malaysia, and Iran have issued statements, but their diplomatic impact is negligible.

From the state-sponsored violence in Kashmir to the tragedy of the Rohingya in Myanmar, the world’s response has never gone beyond perfunctory expressions of “concern.” When a Muslim-majority country is involved, it immediately faces sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and economic punishment. In contrast, Israel continues to commit war crimes while receiving cutting-edge weaponry, billions in aid, and the silent backing of the United Nations.

The G7 countries consistently prioritize their economic and political interests over humanitarian concerns. The United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Japan, and Italy all understand that Israel’s survival serves their strategic interests. That’s why global diplomacy remains focused on Israel’s security, not Palestinian freedom.

When human rights organizations publish reports on abuses in Palestine or Kashmir, Western governments often dismiss them as “biased” or “politically motivated.” Yet, the same institutions are accepted as guardians of international law when they criticize Muslim governments.

The global doctrine of “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P) has become a hollow slogan. This principle, which allows international intervention to prevent genocide, is nowhere to be found in Gaza despite the mass slaughter of civilians. There has been no NATO intervention, no emergency resolution, no UN peacekeeping force. In stark contrast, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the world sprang into immediate action. The question remains: are Palestinians, Lebanese, Yemenis, Kashmiris, and Syrians not human beings?

This blatant double standard is fueling resentment among Muslim youth, driving some toward radicalism. They see their nations ranked second or third in global importance, igniting reactions that, when expressed, are labeled as “terrorism” and crushed with force thus perpetuating a cycle of marginalization and suppression.

In light of this grim reality, the Muslim world must initiate internal reform, unity, and awareness. A strong voice at the United Nations, economic and diplomatic solidarity, strategic use of media, and advancements in science and education are essential if Muslims are to counter global apathy. Muslim nations must present a united front at international platforms like the UN and Security Council. Mere protests and isolated statements will remain ineffective unless they translate into real diplomatic pressure.

The world responded swiftly because it was Israel that was attacked a state fortified by Western interests, protected by unmatched media, military, and economic power. When Palestinians are killed, it is dismissed as “collateral damage.” When human rights are trampled in Kashmir, it’s called an “internal matter.”

This is the contradiction that breeds anger, frustration, and helplessness among the Muslim masses. But now is the time to expose the world’s double standards. Every life is valuable. Every drop of blood carries the same color. If the world truly seeks peace, it must stand with all victims whether they are in Palestine or Ukraine, in Kashmir or Israel.

Otherwise, the world will remain governed not by justice, but by power where fairness is reserved for the mighty, and the cries of the oppressed are buried in silence. Such a world is inevitably destined for self-destruction, for nations that do not speak against injustice ultimately fade into the darkness of history.

This is the time for the Muslim world to recognize its strength, to build unity, and to show the world that it is not merely a victim of injustice but a champion of justice itself.
