Islamabad – 16 October, 2026 (Khyber Mail) : The Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan, Damián Cordero Torres, received the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Pakistan, Imdad Ullah Qazi, and the Secretary for the capital, Zahid Ali, at the diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, the leaders presented a Statement of unconditional solidarity with the Communist Party, the government, and the Cuban people, condemning the intensification of the blockade, secondary sanctions, and the energy siege imposed by the U.S. government, says press note. Likewise, the declaration recognizes Fidel’s legacy and its ongoing relevance during the commemoration of his centenary.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed appreciation for the gesture of solidarity, and provided an update on the difficult situation and the collective punishment unleashed by the empire against the island’s population, while also highlighting the alternatives being developed by Cuban patriots to transform everything from the energy matrix to economic variables in order to move forward. He also updated the political cadres on the upcoming battle Cuba will face at the end of October at the United Nations against the blockade imposed by the U.S. government.
