Dear Editor,
We are facing serious difficulties because of the rising price of petrol. The increase in fuel costs affects everyone, including students, employees, and daily-wage workers who have to travel every day.As students, we already spend a significant amount on transportation to reach our universities. If transportation becomes unaffordable and universities shift classes online, many students may struggle because they do not have reliable internet, electricity, or proper devices.
If we cannot study properly, it will ultimately affect the future of our country.
The situation is even harder for daily-wage workers. A labourer earning Rs1,000 a day may spend around Rs400 on petrol. How can he manage food, rent, electricity, and other household expenses with the remaining Rs600, especially when he is the only earning member of his family?
I believe the government should provide relief to low-income families, improve affordable public transportation, and take practical steps to prevent rising fuel costs from putting further pressure on ordinary citizens.
