RABAT, 16 July 2026 (Khyber Mail) – In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Morocco has formalized its participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, alongside Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, received High Representative for Gaza of the Board of Peace Nickolay Mladenov at the headquarters of the Royal Gendarmerie. The meeting was attended by senior FAR commanders, including the Inspector General and Commander of the South Zone, as well as the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.
The visit, part of Morocco’s commitments as a founding member of the Board of Peace, culminated in the signing of the Agreement on Morocco’s participation in the ISF. According to the National Defense Administration, the Kingdom’s involvement reflects its deep commitment to peace, cooperation, and international solidarity, while contributing to security and stability in the Middle East.
Moroccan officials highlighted the country’s longstanding experience in UN-led peacekeeping operations and reaffirmed its dedication to regional integration projects with security and social progress impact. The Royal initiatives launched by His Majesty the King were underscored as central to Morocco’s vision for peace and development.
Officials from the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF Commander welcomed Morocco’s participation, noting the deployment of high-ranking FAR officers to the ISF Joint Command, contributions from the Royal Gendarmerie and the DGSN, and the establishment of a field military hospital.
The agreement provides the legal framework for Morocco’s technical and operational contributions, reinforcing shared commitment to humanitarian and security actions aimed at building peace and stability in Gaza and the wider region.
