Islamabad , February 12 2026, (Agencies) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced the appointment of 19 new ambassadors, high commissioners and consuls general to represent Pakistan in important capitals and cities around the world, following approval from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
In a statement shared on social media, Dar expressed confidence that the newly appointed envoys would advance Pakistan’s diplomatic objectives with clarity and wisdom, adding that the appointments build on the momentum of the country’s recent foreign policy engagement and outreach efforts.
Among the newly named ambassadors and high commissioners are Ms Saadia Altaf Qazi for Bangkok, Mr Salman Sharif for Berlin, Mr Hasnain Yousaf for Dar es Salaam, Mr Irfan Ahmed for Dushanbe, Mr Tahir Hussain Andrabi for Geneva, Mr Ashar Shahzad for Kampala, Mr Mohammad Aamir Khan for Kathmandu, Chaudhry Tipu Usman for London, Dr Bilal Ahmed for Nairobi, Mr Asim Ali Khan for Oslo, Mr Ahmed Amjad Ali for Stockholm, Mr Muhammad Mudassir Tipu for Tashkent and Mr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui for Tehran.
The Foreign Office also announced several new consuls general, including Mr Ali Anser Zaidi for Frankfurt, Mr Yasir Iqbal Butt for Guangzhou, Mr Shahbaz Hussain for Kandahar, Mr Siraj Ahmad Khan for Los Angeles, Mr Awais Ahmad Khan for Mazar e Sharif and Mr Faisal Abro for Montreal.
Dar commended the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan’s diplomatic corps, noting that many diplomats serve abroad under demanding circumstances. He emphasised that their efforts remain central to advancing Pakistan’s interests internationally and strengthening bilateral relations across regions.
