Today, I would like to share my comments on the Joint Press Communiqué of the Seventh Round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, recently held in Beijing on the 4th of January, 2026.
This important dialogue once again highlights the strength and maturity of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, built on mutual trust, shared interests, and an ironclad friendship.
A major highlight of this year is that 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. This historic milestone reflects not only strong government-to-government relations, but also the deep-rooted friendship between the peoples of both countries.
The Joint Press Communiqué emphasizes the shared vision of building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, guided by long-term cooperation, strategic coordination, and sustainable development. Both sides reaffirmed their support for each other on core national interests and their commitment to regional peace and stability.
The dialogue also underlines the importance of CPEC 2.0, focusing on industrial growth, agriculture, connectivity, Gwadar Port development, and economic cooperation, aimed at improving livelihoods and creating new opportunities.
Equally important is the strong emphasis on people-to-people connectivity, cultural exchanges, education, youth engagement, and tourism. These exchanges will play a vital role in bringing the people of China and Pakistan even closer and in shaping a shared and prosperous future.
On this historic occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the governments and people of China and Pakistan.
I sincerely hope that our two nations will continue to strengthen people-to-people ties, expand cultural cooperation, and create new opportunities for future generations.
May the China-Pakistan friendship continue to grow from strength to strength and pass from generation to generation.
