Tehran, January 17, 2026 (Khyber Mail) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a strongly worded statement rejecting what it described as the “interventionist” remarks of the G7 countries regarding Iran’s internal affairs. The Ministry accused the group, led by the United States, of adopting a “fraudulent approach” on human rights while ignoring their own record of violations.

According to the statement, Iran claims that peaceful gatherings held by citizens between January 8–10 were deliberately turned violent by “terrorist agents equipped by the Zionist regime.” The Ministry alleged that these incidents resulted in casualties among both protesters and security forces. It further pointed to remarks by U.S. and Israeli officials as evidence of “incitement to violence and terrorism,” asserting that documents collected by Iranian authorities prove Israel’s direct role in organizing armed groups with U.S. support.

Reaffirming its constitutional commitment to protecting citizens’ rights, including the right to peaceful protest, the Ministry emphasized Iran’s responsibility to safeguard public order and national sovereignty against what it described as “terrorism pushed from abroad.”

The statement also accused G7 member states of hypocrisy, citing what it called their “shameful record of human rights violations” domestically and in West Asia. It argued that their support for Israel, or silence on its actions, makes them “direct accomplices” in the suffering of Palestinians. Iran vowed that its people would not forget the alleged role of the U.S., Germany, the UK, Canada, and other G7 members in supporting Israeli military actions that Tehran claims killed hundreds of Iranians in the summer of 2025.

Concluding its remarks, the Ministry urged the G7 to “end illegal interference in Iran’s internal affairs, lift cruel sanctions, and stop abusing the concept of human rights as a cover for encouraging violence and terrorism.”
