Nestled along the historic Grand Trunk Road, Dheri Hassanabad is one of Rawalpindi Cantonment’s oldest and most vibrant neighbourhoods. Small in size but rich in history, it reflects the true spirit of the garrison city — a blend of tradition, service, and progress.

Located near Saddar and Lal Kurti, this area has long been home to traders, teachers, soldiers, and small business families. Surrounded by landmarks like GHQ, CMH, Harley Street, and Lalazar, Dheri Hassanabad remains a lively and well-connected part of Rawalpindi, known for its bustling markets and close-knit community.

The neighbourhood has also nurtured remarkable minds — poets such as Sarwar Anbalvi and Zaheer Kunjahi, educator Irfan Siddiqui, and journalists like Syed Talat Hussain and Syed Fahad Hussain all trace their roots here.
Most notably, it is the hometown of FM Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s current Chief of Defence Forces, whose achievements have brought great pride to the area.

Dheri Hassanabad stands as proof that even a humble neighbourhood can produce individuals of national stature. Visit once, feel its warmth — and don’t leave without tasting the famous Babur Samosa .
