These days weddings are no longer simple family occasions but elaborate large-scale events. Especially when influencers play a role. On tiktok intagram and youtube we see couples spending millions on Interior design designer outfits destination venues drone shots and branded gift boxes for guests. Everything looks perfect on screen but question is how real is it ?

For some influencers weddings are managed like commercial venture . Influencers often secure sponsorships for mehndi attire beauty teams photographers and planners with hashtags carefully organized weeks before the celebrations. Every moment is captured for engagement views, and content.

The celebration appears glamorous yet at times it seems the couple is staging moments for the camera rather than experiencing them authentically.

Many influencer weddings guests are more focused on getting the perfect picture than asking how the couple is feeling. Someone is always reminding the bride Phone utha lo story banani hai and cousins are running around with tripods and ring lights instead of plates of mithai. Mehndi dances are not spontaneous anymore they are rehearsed and choreographed for Reels. The photographer might even ask the couple to hug again and again because the last shot wasn’t clean

On the other hand, there is a growing group of influencers who are doing the opposite. They are choosing simplicity, culture, and family traditions over flashy trends. A Punjabi couple celebrating choora and dhol in their courtyard a Sindhi bride wearing traditional ajrak and doing the rasam at home a Balochi groom bringing his whole tribe together these moments are not expensive but they feel deep emotional and real.

People are drawn to these moments as they reflect culture and belonging. They prove that a wedding’s beauty lies in warmth not in extravagance

Social media holds a lot of power and right now it’s shaping weddings in two very different ways. One kind of influence pushes couples to spend more show off and impress people online. The other encourages them to hold on to culture family roots, and meaningful traditions. The future of weddings may lie somewhere in between combining beautiful visuals with real traditions But the truth is clear when the cameras stop rolling what lasts are the memories not the reels
