Eagle Pass Texas, September 28 2025 (Agencies): A mass shooting at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas, left one person dead and at least six others injured, law enforcement authorities confirmed on Sunday.
Gunfire broke out late Saturday night inside the casino, sparking panic as customers scrambled for safety. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes, with bullet holes shattering glass doors and slot machines, and victims crying out in pain as others rushed to help. Police sealed off the area and urged the public to avoid the vicinity.
The Maverick County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the casualty figures but has not released the identities of the victims. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and officials have not yet stated whether the shooting was carried out by a lone gunman or multiple assailants.
The Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, operated by the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas, is a major entertainment hub near the U.S.–Mexico border. Tribal officials are working with investigators as the probe continues.
