RAF Fairford, United Kingdom (Khyber Mail) – 19 July 2025: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has earned international acclaim at the prestigious Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, securing two major awards at the world’s largest military airshow held from 18 to 20 July at RAF Fairford.
PAF’s iconic C-130H Hercules transport aircraft won the coveted Concours d’Elegance Trophy, recognized for its striking livery and thematic presentation aligned with RIAT’s 2025 theme, “Eyes in the Skies.” The aircraft’s design symbolized vigilance, operational heritage, and Pakistan’s commitment to global security.

Meanwhile, the cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jet received the Spirit of the Meet Trophy, awarded for its exceptional performance and sleek appearance. The aircraft completed a 6,000-kilometer nonstop journey from Pakistan to the UK, made possible through multiple mid-air refueling operations using a PAF IL-78 tanker. This feat showcased PAF’s long-range operational capabilities and expeditionary confidence on the global stage.
The PAF contingent’s arrival at RAF Fairford followed a technically demanding refueling mission, drawing admiration from aviation experts and enthusiasts. Spectators from around the world gathered to photograph and celebrate Pakistan’s aircraft, which stood out among participants from over 50 countries.
RIAT, held annually in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, is a premier showcase of global military aviation. PAF’s performance this year not only highlighted its professional excellence and aerospace innovation, but also reinforced Pakistan’s growing stature in the international defense community.
